Leathergoods and watch brand Fossil has announced that its president and chief operating officer, Michael Barnes, is to leave the company after 25 years in a variety of roles. He is to join jewellery retail chain Signet as its chief executive.

Fossil chairman and chief executive, Kosta Kartsotis, said Mr Barnes had helped the company expand from being a watch brand focused only on the US market to become “a global business operating across multiple product lines, distribution channels and geographies”.
