Pakistan issues leather export figures for August

Pakistan's leather sector exports for the month of August were down by 6.4% to $88.6 million from $94.7 million in the previous month, July 2010, but up by 14.4% compared to August 2009 ($77.4 million). The figures come from the government's Federal Bureau of Statistics.

The breakdown showed that the country exported finished leather worth $32 million in August 2010, leathergoods worth $48.7 million and footwear worth $7.8 million compared to $35.2 million, $49.6 million and $9.8 million respectively in the previous month.
