Tannery of the Year to feature at WRAP conference

The chief executive of Pittards, Reg Hankey, will be one of the speakers at a special event in November to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the work of not-for-profit organisation WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production).

Taking place in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on November 18 and 19, the event will offer “a tour of  world-class practices in sustainability, corporate social responsibility and more”.

Reg Hankey, chief executive of Pittards, will take part, speaking about his company’s experience of running the Ethiopia Tannery Share Company, the facility that won the inaugural Tannery of the Year competition.

WRAP says all the speakers on the programme will offer examples of investments in leading-edge programmes and technologies that have directly improved business processes and profitability while still exhibiting commitment to socially and environmentally responsible practices.
