India's Council for Leather Exports (CLE) has announced that producers in the north-west of the country have set up a new infrastructure development company specifically for the leather industry there.

The new company, NCR-Leather Infrastructure Development Company Limited (NCR-LIDCL), has been set up by exporters based in the region to promote a new leather industrial park at Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, which the industry is working in partnership with the local authorities to build.

An area measuring around 25 hectares on a site in Bhiwadi set aside for industrial use has been identified as a suitable location for the new leather park. The task that NCR-LIDCL faces now is to attract local and overseas operators to set up production units there.
