Hermès debuts leathergoods floor in NYC store

14/09/2010
Luxury brand Hermès has devoted one of the floors of its flagship store on New York’s Madison Avenue to leathergoods.

The floor covers an area of around 185 square-metres and was designed by Paris-based architectural agency RDAI. Hermès has said it will offer all varieties of its leathergoods in this space, paying homage to its origins as a saddlery company. The opening also marks the US launch of the brand’s limited-edition So-Black handbag collection.

There will also be a leather workshop on site, staffed with Paris-trained craftsmen who will be able to offer on-site restoration of Hermès products to New York customers.
