Tiffany launches leathergoods collection
13/09/2010
The company’s chief executive, Michael Kowalski, said on announcing positive second-quarter results: “We look toward the second half of the year with a sense of guarded optimism, continuing to grow our worldwide store base and launching a range of exciting new products, including an extraordinary collection of jewellery with yellow diamonds and an enticing new collection of handbags and leather accessories.”
The bags include at the top of the range the Manhattan Satchel in black, glazed crocodile leather, which will retail in the company’s stores at $17,500. A series of tote bags in suede, with colour-choices in purple, gold, earth brown and coffee, are priced more moderately at around $600. Between the two is another element of the collection that uses exotic leather, the Hadley shoulder-bag in snakeskin, priced at $1,495.
Some of the gloves in the collection are in what Tiffany calls “espresso napa leather” with cashmere lining, while it describes others as ring gloves in violet napa leather with silk lining, loop gloves in black pearl napa leather with cashmere lining, triple button gloves in red napa leather with cashmere lining, bow gloves in onyx napa leather with cashmere lining, and studded gloves in Tiffany Blue napa leather with cashmere lining.
So far the collection is only available in the US, but will arrive in Tiffany stores in other countries in 2011.
