Strong growth for nostalgic souvenir brand

The product line of 150 items is inspired by vintage aviation themes and the great Canadian outdoors. The company opened its first own-brand retail outlet in Whistler, British Columbia, earlier this year just in time for the Winter Olympics, and opened its first airport outlet at Montreal’s Pierre Elliott Trudeau International.
Red Canoe has also agreed to supply goods to aerospace manufacturer Boeing and the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Washington DC. It has recently opened a New York office and a new Toronto showroom.
Founder, Dax Wilkinson, is sure demand for high-quality souvenirs with a vintage look and feel will stay strong. He told local media recently: “When I started out, there was nothing that was cool out there that was Canadian, which is ridiculous because Canada is cool. It was just all this tacky junk with moose on it.”
