Outsource manufacturers in command of Tunisian exports

07/09/2010
Tunisia's leather and footwear industries have continued to grow their export revenues.

Figures for the first seven months of the year show export revenues of more than $380 million , a 12.9% increase on the figures for the same period in 2009. Industry officials in the North African country have said that they view it as very likely that Tunisian leather and footwear producers will surpass the export revenues they achieved in 2008, a record year.

The same industry authorities have said, however, that wholly or partly owned overseas enterprises operating in the sector have a share of around 90% of this export trade.
