Small leathergoods to steal the show at Fashion Access
According to the organisers of Fashion Access, the spotlight will be on small leathergoods and accessories at the next edition of Fashion Access in Hong Kong (September 28-30).
“In the past few years we have seen an important development among Fashion Access exhibitors,” said Perrine Ardouin, event director at Fashion Access. “Suppliers are returning with expanded product ranges. They are offering fringe products, usually small leather goods and fashion accessories, alongside their core offer, usually bags.
“Fashion suppliers expanding into fringe products is not a new development, but an on ongoing trend that reflects the continued vigour of the fashion accessories business.”
According to research firm NPD Group, sales within the accessories sector grew 20% during the first three months of this year, driven largely by sales of handbags with an average price of around $100. It reports that sales dropped by 10% in 2009.
