Concerned about the barriers imposed on Brazilian beef by the European Union, the country’s President, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, has called on agriculture minister Wagner Rossi and development, industry and trade minister, Miguel Jorge, to find a way round the situation.

According to the Mr Rossi, President Lula wants Brazil to look for new markets and be creative about the way it operates. In addition to the problems it is experiencing in Europe, Brazilian meat exporters are also experiencing problems in Russia and the US. Mr Rossi claims the quality of the country’s livestock is extremely high.
