Pakistan’s leathergoods exports fall 18%

According to the Pakistan Tanners’ Association (PTA), the country’s leather and leathergoods exports fell 18% during the period between July 2009 and June 2010.
The country’s second-largest export earner posted exports of $984 million for the period compared with the prior-year period.
Leather exports fell 7.6%, leather garment exports dropped 12.5%, leather glove exports fell 37% and exports of other leathergoods were down 31.6%.
