Stahl ‘brings life to leather’ at ACLE

Netherlands-based chemicals company Stahl is focusing on environmentally friendly technologies at the upcoming All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE), which will take place in Shanghai from September 1-3. It’s theme for the show will be “bringing life to leather” and its range will include new products to help manufacturers use lower grade hides and ensure improved cutting values.

According to the company, manufacturing cost is becoming an increasingly important focus for Chinese businesses, including those in the leather industry. At ACLE, visitors to its stand will show how its locally manufactured products can cut costs and add value during leather processing while maintaining worldwide standard of quality.

The firm claims high grade hides have become increasingly difficult to obtain in recent years and that many leather producers are now turning lower grade hides into highly saleable and profitable leather using innovative finishing products. Stahl claims its finishing products, for example its Beautymaker range produced at its Suzhou plant can really help during this process. It will also feature polishable stucco and heat foam systems.

In addition, the company will present fashion-focused concepts based on the latest wax and oil range, environmentally responsible concepts featuring Stahl RSL-free products and new polyurethane resins made in Suzhou. Other Suzhou leather finishing products used for the display will include the new RC-77-022 and RC-77-122 compact aqueous resins, WT-77-002 water top coat and MA-77-089 auxiliary, all of which have been developed at Suzhou for use on fashionable soft upholstery leather. The colours and tanning products team will showcase crusts made using its new series of Corilene fatliquors and Synektan syntans.

The collection of leathers on display will be based on trend colours and fashion ideas provided by Stahl’s design studio in Milan for the autumn-winter 2011-12 season. It will showcase a collection of leather bags and boots at the event to represent some of the latest market trends.
