Leather chemicals seminar takes place in Yantai

The China Leather Industry Association has announced that the eighth national seminar on leather chemicals went ahead successfully in Yantai in Shandong Province from July 22–25. The event was sponsored by Yantai University, the State Research Centre for Leather Technology and the Yantai Wanhua Microfiber Company.

More than 150 scholars and professors from Sichuan University, Shaanxi University of Science and Technology, the China Leather and Footwear Industry Research Institute, Zhengzhou University, Wenzhou University and other scientific research institutes presented and listened to a total of 83 papers.

The papers covered a wide range of topics, from chemicals technologies for leather processing to chemicals trends, analysis and testing and cleaner production technologies. Professor Bi Shi, president of the International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies, presided over the meeting.
