Leathergoods manufacturers in Sri Lanka are to take part in a combined visit to the All China Leather Exhibition in Shanghai (September 1–3). The visit is being planned by the Sri Lanka industry ministry in an attempt to boost ties between suppliers in China and manufacturers in Sri Lanka, perhaps securing investment for companies in the smaller country.
The ministry believes Sri Lanka’s status of being able to export goods duty free to the EU could be attractive to business leaders in China.
