Full-year figures for Pakistani leather

Pakistan’s total leather sector exports for the last financial year (July2009–June 2010) fell by 10.4% compared to the previous fiscal year to $881.9 million.

The country exported 23.7 million square-metres of leather with a value of $337.1 million last financial year showing growth of 21.6% and 12.6% in terms of volume and dollar value. The country exported leathergoods worth $452.6 million, (which includes leather garments worth $343.3 million and leather gloves at $96.1 million), a drop of 18.7%. The country also exported 11.4 million pairs of shoes worth $92.2 million (although the value of leather footwear exports was $70.5 million), a drop of 28.3%.

Pakistan’s leather sector exports went up in June by 28.3% compared to the previous month, May 2010, and by 21.2% compared to June 2009.
