Tod’s bracelets help breed German team spirit

Although it just missed out on the final, Germany’s national football team won a great deal of praise during the FIFA 2010 World Cup for its flair, its goal-scoring ability and for its togetherness, which surprised some observers of international football who thought during the build-up to the competition that the team was too young and too divided to be a success in the tournament in South Africa.

National team manager, Oliver Bierhoff—whose role is to offer organisational, back-room and public relations support rather than as a coach—has revealed that team spirit received an extra boost after he found My Colours braided leather bracelets in the national colours of gold, red and black while browsing in one of the German boutiques of Italian luxury goods firm Tod's.

The former national team striker, who played for 12 years in Italy for a variety of clubs, bought one of the bracelets (priced at $225 each) for all the players and coaches in the squad as a symbol of team spirit and togetherness.

The players were spotted wearing the bracelets off the field while head coach Joachim Löw sported his on the sidelines of the games in South Africa. Currently available at Tod's boutiques worldwide, the bracelets come in various national colours.
