Asia-Pacific, Europe, and North America account for over 90% of the share of the global leather chemicals market the report said. It expects growth to come from expanding leathergoods and leather production markets and talks of "resurgent demand" for leather from the footwear and automotive industries.
It goes on to say that a major issue facing the market relates to the adverse environmental impact caused by some of the chemicals currently in use. "Growing awareness about environmentally friendly products and processes, and the need to comply with regulatory specifications is contributing to the uptake of eco-friendly leather chemicals," Global Industry Analysts have explained.
