2010 UITIC Congress to take place in Mexico

The International Association of Shoe Industry Technicians (UITIC) has announced that the 17th UITIC Congress will take place from the October 7-9 2010 in León, Guanajuato, Mexico.

The congress will be organised by the Mexican Leather and Footwear Research and Technological Consultancy Centre (CIATEC), on behalf of UITIC, and this time will take place in parallel with the 32nd International Conference on Technology in the Footwear Industry (CALZATECNIA).

The programme, to be announced soon, will cover the development of footwear technology over the past few years and expectations for the near future. Commercial aspects stemming from the current economic situation worldwide will also be addressed. During the sessions, there will be simultaneous translation provided there is a minimum of 30 representatives per language.
 
UITIC said on announcing the venue that the state of Guanajuato, and in particular the city of León, are well known worldwide as centres of excellence in the production of footwear and leather. It said it expected more than 300 delegates from all over the world to gather at the León Poliforum conference centre for the event.
