Herd reduction in Argentina

Argentina's national agriculture, food and health service (Senasa) has said that the country's feedlots are operating at only 60% capacity on average.

The figures have raised concerns as this is the coldest time of year in Argentina. Senasa has suggested that the stastistic reflects an overall decline in the size of the national herd. The organisation has said there could be 10% fewer head of cattle in Argentina compared to this time last year.
