Stahl releases leather samples for AW 2011-2012

Stahl has now issued leather samples for its colour preview for autumn-winter 2011-2012.

The specialty chemicals company announced the colours three months ago to give tanneries as much notice as possible of which tones it thinks will dominate that season. As usual, after sharing information about the four distinct colour groups it has identified, the company turned its attention to surface effects that will be needed on leather to complement designs in fashion. It now has samples to share with the industry.

The first group of colours, Ordinary, is inspired by the 1950s. The range uses glamorous red to contrast dramatically with the dark blue ink colours at the other end of the spectrum.

The Personal group creates an individual look that allows the wearer to stand out in a crowd. Dyed key tones and monochromes with gradations predominate here.

The Alternate group is a mixture of luxury and poverty, hinting at rebellion and exploration. Biological blue and rigorous black are mixed with alternative blends and retro nuances.

Finally, Functional leads out into the open country and focuses on nature and healthier values. Colours are blends of very classical, natural tones including greens from the vegetable world with darker shades from the world of minerals.

Throughout each colour group there is a feeling of winter; however, there are glimpses of brightness such as bright red, blue and lilac.
