Perry Ellis takes charge of leathergoods business

24/06/2010

Florida-based clothing and accessories company Perry Ellis has decided not to renew its license agreement with Westport Corporation for its men's accessories range, which includes wallets, bags and gift sets. The license agreement expires on December 31 and Westport will continue to manufacture and distribute accessories for the company until then. From January 1, 2011, Perry Ellis will manage all aspects of its accessories business.

George Feldenkreis, chairman and CEO, said: "We have built a strong accessories team, and have established a core competency in men's leather products across numerous brands and channels of distribution.

“By bringing this business in-house we believe that we can further optimise these businesses as well as take advantage of cross-selling opportunities across other product categories and brands within our current portfolio."
