Leather becomes increasingly important for Macedonian market
Macedonia has been identified as a country with significant growth potential for leather and footwear.
The country’s chemical, textile and leather products currently account for around 20% of its GDP and experts believe there is plenty of room for improvement. According to reports, around 24% of the countries job are generated by the leather and textile sectors.
The country currently produces around 3.5 million square-metres of leather per year. Its 70 footwear manufacturers produce approximately three million pairs of shoes per year.
