Brazil to host World Footwear Congress
President of the National Association of Italian Footwear Manufacturers (ANCI), Vito Artioli, the next World Footwear Congress will take place in Brazil.
At ANCI’s annual general meeting (AGM), which took place on June 10, Mr Artioli revealed that the congress, which happens every two years but did not take place in 2009, will be held in Rio de Janeiro in November 2011.
The decision, Mr Artioli reveals, was made at the European Confederation of the Footwear industry’s (CEC’s) AGM, which was held in Istanbul in May. He said the details were being finalised.
The congress will be organised by CEC and Couromoda along with other Brazilian and international footwear associations. The details are expected to be announced at Micam this September in Milan.
