Roots launches Douglas Coupland leathergoods
Canadian clothing retailer Roots is launching a limited-edition apparel, furniture and leathergoods collection designed by writer Douglas Coupland. The most expensive item in the range is a silver leather ‘Centennial’ jacket that has been signed by the artist. It will retail at $1,973.
The new Roots X Douglas Coupland line will debut on July 8 and will apparel for men, women and children as well as leathergoods, design items, furniture and art works. This is the first time Douglas Coupland, author Generation X, JPod and Generation A has designed fashion wearables.
"I've never seen much difference between writing or making visual art or designing furniture or clothing," says Coupland. "It's still my brain; I'm just using different parts of it for different things."
