Taiwan inspect US slaughterhouses

14/06/2010

For the first time, Taiwan will conduct inspections at US slaughterhouses that export beef to Taiwan, according to the country’s ministry of health.
Scheduled for August and September, the first inspections will aim to ensure that all exports of beef from the US are properly labelled and that they comply with Taiwanese regulations. These inspections are a planned response to a recent request from the US for the customs clearance procedures to be expedited.
