China’s ministry of industry and information technology (MIIT) says outdated production techniques must be stamped out.

According to spokesperson Zhang Li, this will help the country’s manufacturers to produce better quality goods in a more effective and sustainable way.

The sectors this particularly applies to, according to MIIT are leather manufacturing, paper manufacturing, printing and dyeing. It says strict regulations will need to be enforced if a change for the better is to take place. Technical innovation and improved infrastructure will also play an important part.
