Tunisian leather and footwear exports rise
According to new figures, Tunisia’s leather and footwear exports rose 13% during the first four months of the year 2010. However, despite the increase, the breakdown shows footwear exports were down 5%.
The country’s leather industry is its fourth largest in terms of exports, according to figures from the African Manager website. Around 91% of its leather exports are shipped to European countries, with France, Germany and Italy accounting for the highest number of exports.
