Full-year figures for Indian leather

In US dollars, the total was $3.3 billion, compared to $3.6 billion in 2008–09. This represents a fall of almost 9%. However, in the local currency, the rupee, the fall was only 3.5% at 156 billion.
Finished leather exports had a full-year value of $605.6 million. The value for leather footwear was $1.16 billion compared to $1.24 billion. The decrease in these two categories was 11.6% and 6.2% respectively.
One category that registered an increase compared to the previous financial year was leather garments. Exports of leather garments had a value of $429.8 million, compared to $426.7 million in 2008–09.
