China: leather garment exports on the rise

The China Leather Industry Association has reported figures for the first quarter of 2010 showing that a five-year decline in exports of leather garments has been halted.

Exports of Chinese leather garments had been in steady decline since 2005. The results for the first quarter of this year showed an increase in volume of 35.1% to 3.27 million pieces.

These garments brought in $170 million in exort revenues.
