11/05/2010

The next edition of the Le Cuir À Paris event will take place in Hall 4 of the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition centre from September 14–16.

The organisers, SIC, have announced that 16 new companies from all over the world will take part this year, including South Cape Ostrich Tanning from South Africa (a finalist in the 2009 Tannery of the Year competition), Jiangsu Yanano Garments Co from China,  American Supply
Corporation and Juan Poveda from Spain, CK International from the US, Eureka, Derayage Services and Mégisserie Colombier from France,
Trendintex Srl from Italy, and Arpel Deri, Cetinkaya, SF Trade, Toprak Kurk and Yilbay Deri from Turkey.

All exhibitors will have on display their collections of leather for the autumn-winter 2011–2012 season.

An exhibition space called Home Made will highlight the hand-made, home-made concept. This space, designed by François Bernard, a French designer who is the founder of the home trendsetting agency Croisements, will present in eight steps new research and development on colours, textures, surface treatments and sensorial aspects adapted to the use of leather in interior decoration and product design. Each step will be represented by a luminous photo of leather together with real samples to be
touched.

New talent will be on display in the Designers’ Village. Companies taking part this time will include: Martini & Coz (Australia), Mamix (France), Falbalas Création (France), Créanoy (France), Hande Fabbro (Turkey), and Magsant (Mexico). The Mexican designer Magnum Santillan studies macro trends and consumption habits in order to create, among others, home deco objects that mix the folk spirit of Mexico and modern style. Lyon-based testing and research centre CTC will complete this space with designers that have participated in a workshop programme it has run.
