Bangladesh president issues leathergoods plea to Croatia

President Zillur Rahman of Bangladesh has urged Croatian companies to invest in Bangladesh, with the leather sector one of the areas of the economy that he singled out.

The President made the appeal on receiving Dr Boris Velic as the new Croatian ambassador to the Asian country.

The president said: “Croatian importers should import more Bangladeshi products particularly leathergoods, ceramic wares and pharmaceuticals.”

Zillur Rahman also urged the Croatian government to recruit workers from the country.

For his part, the new ambassador said he would try his level best to increase the volume of trade and commerce between the two countries during his tenure.
