Stahl announces price increases
04/05/2010
Stahl will increase prices for several of its leather finish and performance coatings products on June 1, 2010, or as contracts allow.
The company says the increase is necessary because of the “escalation of raw material feedstock” used to manufacture the products. Key suppliers reduced capacity significantly during the recent economic crisis, Stahl continued. The current global demand associated with the ongoing economic recovery has led to short supply of raw materials, thereby creating the sharp increase in raw material costs.
Furthermore, costs for packaging, transport and energy have also increased.
“Stahl’s primary responsibility is to maintain a steady supply stream to our customers and trading partners, but the current raw material crisis has made an increase in our prices unavoidable,” the company added.
The company insisted that it remains committed to invest in products, services and business development to meet the needs of customers and ensure a strong local presence in all regions and markets.
