Canada-based Danier Leather has posted improved financial results for the 13-week and 39-week periods ended March 27.

Net earnings during the third quarter of fiscal 2010 were $2.8 million compared with a net loss of $2.3 million during the third quarter last year.

Sales for the quarter increased by 8% to $46.9 million from $43.5 million during the third quarter last year.

For the nine-month period, net earnings increased by $7.4 million to $7.9 million compared with net earnings of $0.5 million for the corresponding period last year. Year-to-date sales increased by 2% to $137.4 million compared with $135.1 million.
