According to the Australian government, the country’s beef export industry has benefited considerably as a result of Chile's decision to remove a major trade barrier. Chile has finally agreed to accept Australia's beef grading system, which means it longer needs to employ its own beef graders, which can be expensive.

According to Australian trade minister, Simon Crean, the decision is likely to make a big difference. He reports that Australia’s beef exports totalled $63 million in 2009.
