New appointment at Muirhead

Glasgow-based leather manufacturer Andrew Muirhead and Son has appointed Archie Browning sales director.

A graduate from Aberdeen University, Mr Browning has been involved in the textiles industry since joining Coates Viyella as a trainee in 1993. He progressed to the position of account manager before joining Replin, a manufacturer of transportation textiles, in 1998. He joins Andrew Muirhead and Son from Macnaughton Holdings Ltd in August 2009.

Commenting on his appointment, he said: “Andrew Muirhead & Son is a progressive and proactive company and I am delighted to be taking up this new challenge as sales director.”

The company supplies leather to many airlines around the world including British Airways, Singapore Airlines, Emirates and Qantas. The company also supplied leather for the public and business lounges at Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5 as well as public seating and the world’s longest champagne bar at St Pancras station in London.
