UK leathergoods firm to open in Kuwait
Men's footwear and leathergoods manufacturer Harrys of London is to open its first freestanding store in the Middle East on April 29. The outlet will open at the new 360 Mall in Kuwait.
The 70 square-metre store fits the brand's signature library motif. The shoes are arranged as 'books' on the four-metre high 'bookcases' and stock is accessible by sliding wooden library ladders. The interiors feature dove-grey suede walls, traditional cornicing and a herringbone oak floor that was shipped from London and reassembled in the store. Custom-made Chesterfield sofas are made from Italian leather.
According to the company, it plans to expand more in the near future. "The Middle East is a discerning market which clearly understands the difference between luxury and true quality and service," says CEO, Giuseppe Bonfiglio. "Through the excellent performance of our London store we are getting numerous requests to replicate our format in other cities around the world. We are planning five additional store opening during the current fiscal year."
