Latest Clariant products to appear at Guangzhou leather fair
Specialty chemicals company Clariant will present its latest products at Guangzhou Shoes & Leather, which runs June 1-3.
From the wet end, it will showcase its Granofin F-60 pretanning system along with its Tanicor SCU retanning agent for chrome-free leathers. For nappa and sofa leathers it will present its Tergotan PMB and Tergotan TSP polymer retanning agents, which are said to deliver even softness, tightness and grain pattern. Tergotan
PO-60, a brand new development, offers softness and tightness when used as a replacement for conventional retanning agents and fatliquors. Clariant will also feature its new Derminol SO-31, a softening synthetic fatliquor, alongside Derminol DDS and Derminol PUA, designed to enable tanners to produce vegetable-type articles with the simplicity and economy of traditional chrome leathers.
From the finishing side, the company will present upgrading products such as Melio Aquabase and Melio Ground systems. Natural looks can be acquired using its cationic prebase compound Melio Ground UP, while Melio Aquabase M-90 can be used to cover deep defects. For shoe and upholstery styles, Melio 06-F-88 provides burnishability along with high gloss and a natural waxy touch.
Clariant’s new topcoat system based on Aqualen Top DC-2050.B (dull) and Aqualen Top GC-2051.A (gloss) can be used for soft leathers such as furniture leather or shoe upper nappas, while Melio WF-5238 provides a luxurious smooth feel and Melio WF-5243 gives a natural pleasant handle and the ‘wet touch’ feel.
The company will also show its Neosan 2000 pigments at the show, which are Arizona-proofed for heat and light fastness as well as hot light ageing properties as well as its versatile Supronil HK dyes.
