Business booms for Pakistani firms at APLF

During the Asia Pacific Leather Fair (APLF), which ran March 29 to April 1 in Hong Kong, participating Pakistani leather exporters received orders worth US$50 million.
According to Gulzar Firoz, chairman of the Pakistan Tanners’ Association (PTA), the Hong Kong event was a real success. He said 55 participants from Pakistan appeared on the country’s pavilion, along with seven individual participants.
According to Mr Firoz, visitors from all over Europe, North America and Asia visited these Pakistani firms, who were showcasing many types of finished leather. Business worth $30 million took place at the fair, and orders worth a further $20 million are now in the pipeline.
