Fonseca to increase collaboration with Prevent Leather
Argentinean tannery Fonseca is to extend its collaboration with Prevent Leather, based in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
A senior representative from Fonseca visited the Visoko-based firm earlier this week and, according to reports, was pleased with what he saw. "Prevent is a growing company, and we see potential in helping its development and growth," he told Croatia-based economics consultants Limun.hr.
Prevent was established in 1999 and now employs almost 3,000 people. The factory has a tanning capacity of 2,000 raw hides a day and mainly produces automotive leather.
Fonseca, based in Lanús on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, was recently picked as World Leather’s Tannery of the Year winner for the Americas region, which encompassed tanneries from North, Central and South America. Most of the leather it produces goes into the automotive supply chain, supplying leather for the seats in cars made by Honda, Audi, BMW, Ford, General Motors and many others.
