Leathergoods hold Hermès steady
29/03/2010
Luxury brand Hermès ended the full year for 2009 with profits slightly lower at EUR 288.8 millions.
The brand achieved slightly lower sales in 2009 at EUR 1.9 billion but it said the decline being small owed everything to the performance of Hermès’s leathergoods. It said it had enjoyed growth in every market with the exception of Japan, where sales were down by 11%.
In the course of 2009, the brand opened 14 new stores and refurbished nine more. Six of the new stores were in China.
