Belgian life sciences firm Eurofins Scientific has added leather testing to the range of services on offer at its laboratory in Shenzhen, China. “The way that leather is produced and the wide range of products that incorporate leather means that compliance with a range of regulations in North America and Europe is essential for manufacturers of these goods,” the company said.
It said its laboratory would be able to give brands, manufacturers and suppliers reassurance that finished products were free from substances including Azo dyes, chromium VI, dimethyl fumarate and preservatives such as pentachlorophenol and formaldehyde.
The Shenzhen facility is one of two that Eurofins has opened in China since the start of 2010.
