Good progress on Ethiopian projects

The Ethiopian Investment Agency (EIA) has announced that, over the last five years, it has granted new investment licenses to more than 11,000 domestic and overseas investors, who have, as a result, provided more than $30 billion in capital funding, and created 130,000 jobs.
The agency's director-general, Abi Woldemeskel, said on March 17 that, when all the projects covered by the investment funding become fully operational, the number of jobs created would be more than 2 million.
He said projects involving the production of leather and leathergoods had received priority and that implementation of them so far was encouraging.
