Tunisia’s leather and footwear exports rose by around 2% in January, the National Centre for Leather and Footwear (CNCC) has said.
Leathergoods and leather garments brought in $1 million more for the month than in January 2009, which represents an increase of 19.5%. Handbags accounted for the biggest share of this increase; these products had an export value of $2.1 million in January 2009, but in the same month this year brought $2.5 million into the Tunisian economy.
