Luxury leathergoods brand Hermès has announced that it will create 1,000 new jobs at a leathergoods workshop that it plans to open on a 30,000 square-metre site at Pantin, a suburb to the northeast of Paris.

The company has said it hopes to open the new centre in 2012.
