Marfrig invests to upgrade plants

Brazilian packer and tanning group Marfrig is to invest US $2.8 million to modernise seven abattoirs in the state of Rio Grande do Sul this year and says it spent a similar amount of money bringing the plants up to date last year.
The company's industrial director, Roberto Mülbert said on announcing the developing: "We are making this investment with the aim of increasing our quality and productivity, and of reducing costs."
