Apple asks Mulberry to make special bags for its devices

Electronics brand Apple has launched an exclusive collection of bags and cases made by UK-based luxury leathergoods manufacturer Mulberry for devices such as the MacBook, the MacBook Pro, the iPhone and the iPod.
The collection includes the Bayswater, a women’s bag for the MacBook Pro in soft, black patent leather with a ripple effect. Products for men inlcude the Drew sleeve bag in veg-tanned Italian leather. The products are available exclusively from the two companies.
Reports have suggested that Apple made a direct approach to Mulberry to ask the leathergoods brand to make the collection, and Mulberry’s artistic director, Emma Hill, has commented: “Apple products are too beautiful to go in drab bags. Apple and Mulberry have real craftsmanship in common and I'm delighted that Mulberry is the first luxury brand that Apple has chosen to work with.”
