Naomi Campbell leather art sold for charity
Welsh artist Mark Evans recently etched a portrait of supermodel Naomi Campbell into a leather canvas. The piece of art was sold at auction on February 18 and helped raise £1.4 million ($2.2 million) for the White Ribbon Alliance, a charity that helps to make pregnancy and childbirth safer across the globe.
In the past, Mr Evans has also produced leather etchings of members of the Saudi Arabian royal family as well as Premiership footballers and well-known politicians, actors and singers.
The image of Ms Campbell, named ‘Skin Deep’, was based on a portrait of the model taken by Michael Thompson.
Other items sold at the auction included a dress designed by the late Alexander McQueen and a Vivienne Westwood outfit.
