UK-based leathergoods and clothing brand Mulberry has raised its full-year outlook following strong sales over the Christmas period.

The company issued a statement on February 16 to say that, having posted strong results for the quarter ended September 30, when sales and profit had risen, it had continued to experience solid demand since then.

The statement added: “The successful launch of the new Alexa handbag range has created demand from both retail and wholesale customers and given added impetus.” The range is named after UK television presented and style icon Alexa Chung.

As a result, Mulberry has raised its guidance for the full-year period ended March 31 and results are expected to be “significantly” ahead of market expectations.
