Difficult times ahead at Lectra
Fourth-quarter revenues at Lectra fell 7% to €42.6 million. Revenues from new systems sales were down 13% to €17.5 million and recurring revenues fell 2% to €25.1 million. However, net income totalled €0.6 million, slightly up compared with 2008. Furthermore, orders for new software licenses and CAD/CAM equipment at €17.8 million were significantly higher than during the first three quarters of 2009 (€10.4, €10.6 and €11.3 million, respectively). Orders were up 22% compared with the fourth quarter of 2008.
For the year, revenues were down 23% at €153.2 million. Revenues from new systems sales fell 41% to €56.2 million, while recurring revenues fell 7% to €97 million. Orders for new software licenses dropped 28%, and those for CAD/CAM equipment were down 32%. Net loss for the year was €3.6 million compared with net income of €3.2 million in 2008.
The company said: “Like 2009, 2010 could therefore be a difficult one for Lectra, as for many companies around the world, pending confirmation of a lasting improvement in macroeconomic conditions. Visibility remains limited and uncertainty persists, calling for continued great vigilance.”
It added: “The company remains confident in the strength of its business model and its medium-term growth prospects.”
