Awards distributed at IILF
India's top 70 leather and leathergoods exporters received awards at the India International Leather Fair 2010, held in Chennai from January 31 to February 3.
The awards were presented by Indian textiles minister, Dayanidhi Maran, Subas Pani from the India Trade Promotion Organisation and Habib Hussain, chairman
of the Council for Leather Exports.
Tata International Limited and Superhouse Limited received the first and second place awards in terms of overall exports. Tata International Limited was also the top exporter of finished leather, with exports exceeding $15 million between April 2008 and February 2009. Model Tanners (India) came second in the category.
Mirza International Limited and Farida Shoes Pvt were the top two exporters of leather footwear, while Althaf Shoes Pvt was first for footwear components.
In terms of leather garments, first and second place went to Bhartiya International and Fashion Club Global, while the leathergoods awards went to Crew BOS Products and Rabia Leather Industries.
Industrial Safety Products Pvt Ltd and Zenith Exports were the top two industrial leather manufacturers.
